Leadership and Motivation
Tutorial, 2.00 ECTS
This course focuses on methods of effective leadership and team motivation. A general introduction is followed by considerations specific to team leadership in a professional setting.
The core contents of this course include:
 Leadership methods;
 Motivational techniques;
 Alignment of interest; incentive schemes;
 Work-life balance.
Optional contents can include:
 Role plays, e.g. performance reviews; students shall receive feedback on their performance during simulations;
 Further development of students' portfolios of competencies.
Graduates have detailed knowledge of methods of employee leadership and motivation and are able to act efficiently in teams and optimize output. Application in small group settings promotes the development of methodical and personal competencies.
The participants know essential definitions of leadership / management.
The participants understand leadership as a system of leadership procedures / leadership behaviour / leadership means / leadership organisation.
The participants know different leadership styles and are able to apply them adequately in specific situations.
