Christian Huss, MBA B.A., has been a full-time lecturer and Head of the JOANNEUM School of Finance at FH JOANNEUM since 2023. Prior to this role, he had been a part-time lecturer in the Banking and Insurance Management program for many years, incorporating his extensive practical experience into his teaching. With more than 20 years of professional experience in the banking industry, he possesses in-depth knowledge and expertise in sales, market operations, and management.
Throughout his career, Christian Huss has held various key positions in banks, including leadership roles in human resources management, sales management, product management, and marketing & communication. In these capacities, he served as General Representative and a member of the extended executive board. Additionally, he continues to act as Chairman of the Board and Liquidator of several banking holding companies and has successfully led numerous mergers, change processes, and strategic projects within banking networks.
His teaching and research focus on banking management, banking products, financial market ethics, sales management, consulting, and personal development. In his teaching, he combines theory with practical applications and places great emphasis on fostering leadership and consulting skills. For his teaching efforts, he was nominated twice for the FH JOANNEUM Teaching Award (2018 and 2019).
His academic qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in Banking and Insurance Management from FH JOANNEUM, an MBA in General Management, and completion of the “Human, Corporate & IT Competence” program at Danube University Krems. He is also a recipient of the GRAWE High Potential Award and holds a certified trainer qualification.
Beyond his professional and academic career, Christian Huss is a passionate musician and wine enthusiast, currently pursuing a diploma at the Austrian Wine Academy.
