Herbert Fellner

Portrait

Herbert Fellner began his technical training at the Höhere Technische Bundeslehranstalt in Steyr in the field of mechanical and automotive engineering. He extended his education by studying industrial engineering and mechanical engineering at the Technical University in Graz. The deepening of his studies took place on the combustion engine. During his studies he worked as an assistant at the Institute of Materials Science and Strength Engineering.
The diploma studies were followed by the dissertation, which dealt with the solution of noise and vibration problems in high-speed trains. This was followed by the management of acoustics at Siemens Verkehrstechnik in Graz, one of the world's leading developers and manufacturers of rail vehicles.
With the foundation of the Acoustics Competence Center as a joint venture of Graz University of Technology and the companies MAGNA and AVL List, the change from the rail vehicle back to the automobile took place with research activities in acoustics and vibration technology, both in testing and by means of numerical simulation.
In 2002, the change to teaching took place at the FH JOANNEUM in Graz in the course of studies in automotive engineering with teaching activities from machine elements to the complete vehicle and the management of the lecture series "Innovations in Automotive Engineering". Since 2014 he has been a lecturer at the Institute of Industrial Design. At court he supports as a generally certified and court-sworn expert.
