Ruth Weiler

Ruth Weiler teaches at the Institutes of "Industrial Design", "Energy, Transport and Environmental Management" and "Business Informatics and Data Science". At the Institute of "Industrial Design", she is also responsible for the area of International Relations. She holds a master’s degree in English and American Studies and Sociology, as well as a doctorate in Sociology, from the University of Graz, Austria. She received the "Faculty Award of the Faculty of Business, Economics and Social Sciences Graz for 'Excellent master’s thesis'" and the "Research Award of the Sozialforum – Österreichisches Hilfswerk Vienna". She has lived abroad for a number of years. This included studying at the University of Warwick and researching as a visiting scholar with the Cambridge Group for the History of Population and Social Structure, A Designated Research Centre of the Economic and Social Research Council, in Cambridge, England. Her research interests include English for Specific Purposes, academic instruction, and a variety of sociological topics.
