What I learned in my studies for my job:
From my studies, I primarily gained a deeper understanding of how to always embed communication measures within a broader business context. Concrete analysis tools and frameworks help me to identify markets, target groups, and business objectives more clearly. The programme also showed me that I enjoy acting as an “intrapreneur” within a company: I value the security of being an employee while pursuing an entrepreneurial and self-reliant approach.

Use your time at university to explore industries, jobs, and companies. It’s the phase when you can be bold, make mistakes, and build your professional foundation.

About my job

As a Strategic Planner at BBDO, I work at the intersection of consumer behavior, societal trends, and brand development. I analyze markets and media, plan campaigns, and develop strategic foundations for strong brand identities. What excites me most is translating everyday observations into concepts and bringing them to life with creative teams. For me, the advertising industry thrives on exchange, inspiring people, and the constant opportunity to dive into new topics.
My personal highlight so far: a complete rebranding and launch campaign for a Swiss hotel association – an experience that showed me how important trust, teamwork, and creative freedom are.

My next goals

My next goals are to determine which core areas of strategic planning I want to focus on (more brand or more communication). Looking further ahead, I definitely see myself in a leadership role. I want to give others a chance and inspire them for this profession – just as I have always had supporters and great mentors along my own journey. I chose Vienna because you can find inspiring people and ideas around every corner in this city. I’m fascinated by advertising because it’s so much about exchanging with people, understanding societal changes, and engaging with psychology and philosophy. I love that I get to work on new topics every single day.
