Christian Derler

Christian Derler, MBA, has been active in national and international banking since 2004. In various roles and departments, he perfected his operational, strategic, and leadership skills, significantly shaping the future of banking at the highest levels.

Christian started his banking career in Graz and distinguished himself as the youngest branch manager in Styria in 2012. In 2014, he moved to Vienna, where he led innovation management for Austria and Eastern Europe. He was responsible for various key projects, build-up and deconstruction programs, as well as the development of sales and program-controlling measures. He led teams of up to 70 employees.

From 2017 to 2020, he served as Head of Sales Management for Retail at the holding company of an Austrian banking group. His responsibilities included product management, sales strategy, sales controlling, and product marketing. Key tasks included the introduction of new products, optimization of internal banking processes, and the establishment of new partnerships within the group.

In 2020, he applied his experience as a division manager at a start-up bank, implementing numerous new retail products (both in-house and third-party products in cooperation with partners). Since May 2022, Christian has led the Investment and Pension department of an Austrian bank, where he is responsible for product management, asset management, brokerage, and private banking both domestically and internationally.

Christian earned his theoretical knowledge through part-time studies in Business Administration at the Karl-Franzens University Graz (2003–2008) and later completed his MBA in International Management and Marketing. He has been involved in entrepreneurship on the side since 2009.

A native of Birkfeld, Christian is active in a charitable organization and is an avid skier and footballer in his spare time. He is married and a father of two sons.
