Manfred Tragner

Manfred Tragner has been leading the portfolio and life cycle management project initiative for the courses offered at FH JOANNEUM since November 2023. Previously, he worked at the FH Technikum Wien as course director of the master's and bachelor's degree programs in "Renewable Energies" and was also significantly involved in the development of the two dual degree programs Bachelor's "Hydrogen Technology" and Master's "Sustainable Building Technology".
Manfred Tragner completed his degree in electrical engineering at the Technical University of Graz and Vienna. He then worked on his PHD on the subject of market and transmission tariff models at the Institute for Energy Economics at the Vienna University of Technology, where he also worked as a research associate.
From 1998, Mr. Tragner was curator of electrical engineering at the Vienna Technical Museum and subsequently headed the collections department as chief curator until 2005. From 2005 to 2014 he worked as a lecturer, researcher and deputy course director of the “Energy, Transport and Environmental Management” course at FH JOANNEUM. From 2010 he set up the non-university research institution 4ward Energy Research GmbH, which he also managed as managing director until 2017.
