Efficiently managing and linking product data throughout the entire life cycle is a key prerequisite for modern development and production processes. The programme is delivered as part of the EU4Dual European Joint Master’s in Digital and Sustainable Manufacturing Engineering.

Programme highlights

  • Designed with international academic partners
  • Tailored to current industry needs
  • Hands-on practical experience in your company

The content of the programme is state-of-the art based on the latest developments in the sector and has been designed jointly with international university partners of our Eropean University Alliance EU4Dual and together with our partner companies. What makes our Co-op Microcredential offer unique is the tailor-made use-case application directly in the company and its international focus.

Requirements:

You can apply if you meet the following requirements:

  • A bachelor’s degree in a technical degree programme
  • English B2

This microcredential is aimed in particular at specialists and managers in the fields of production, product development, process and project management, and supply chain management who wish to specifically expand their skills in product lifecycle management.

As part of the Co-op microcredential programme, participants will work on an industry use case. Current employment with an industrial company is therefore an advantage, but is not a prerequisite for taking part in the microcredential programme.

Seit Januar 2023 ist die FH JOANNEUM bereits Teil des vier Jahre dauernden EU-Projekts EU4DUAL

Required documents for application:

  • Curriculum vitae
  • Information about your current employment
  • Self-assessment of previous experience (basic prior knowledge, advanced prior knowledge, expert)

Integration/combination options:

The microcredential is carried out jointly with students on the European Joint Master’s programme in Digital and Sustainable Manufacturing Engineering and can be credited towards this programme. The industry use case will be managed and assessed separately.

Study organisation:

The microcredential is offered in a co-op format, meaning that part of the learning experience takes place within a company. The programme combines online learning (approximately 60% of the total duration, including the kick-off session and self-study), face-to-face teaching at FH JOANNEUM Graz (approximately 20% of the total duration, including guided in-depth learning and practical exercises), and business practice obtained directly in cooperation with an industrial company – ideally in your own company (approximately 20% of the total duration through an industry use case).

Product Lifecycle Management combines multimedia-supported teaching with hands-on exercises, case studies and guest lectures. Excursions and insights into industrial PLM systems, as well as work on an individual industry use case, enable participants to directly apply the knowledge they have acquired to real-world scenarios.

Graduation requirements:

To successfully complete the microcredential, participants must pass both the written examination and the final report based on the industry use case. Assessment is based on the Austrian grading system (grades 1 to 5). In addition, participants must meet the required minimum attendance.

Qualification profile:

Graduates understand the key principles of sustainable product and production design and are able to apply the methods acquired during the programme to real-world challenges. They are capable of identifying and implementing optimisation measures in manufacturing companies and of evaluating these from both an economic and an environmental perspective using the data and documentation provided.
