Students in the Double Degree program from Austria begin their studies at FH JOANNEUM in Bad Gleichenberg, where they complete their first three semesters. The fourth and fifth semesters are spent at Savonia UAS in Kuopio, where they enroll in the English-taught program Tourism and Hospitality Management. Between the two semesters, students complete an on-site internship, gaining valuable international professional experience. The sixth semester is completed back at FH JOANNEUM, where students also write their bachelor’s thesis. This thesis is jointly supervised by both universities, and the final examination is conducted online with representatives from both institutions.
Upon successful completion, graduates receive two academic degrees : the Bachelor of Arts in Business from FH JOANNEUM and the Bachelor of Hospitality Management from Savonia UAS. The Finnish degree facilitates entry into the Finnish job market and provides additional career opportunities in an international context. (1)

The Double Degree program is aimed at students who wish to deepen their professional and intercultural competencies while gaining practical experience in an international environment.
