Be very afraid | Danger in science fiction films
About different depiction forms and stylistic elements which trigger fear in movies.
Starting with the biological and psychological roots of fear and their representation in movies, design characteristics and stylistic elements are analyzed and put into practice by means of a complementary work piece. The second part of this thesis is dedicated to the documentation of the work piece: a trailer for the fictitious film Earth Attacks. In this film the key design characteristics of danger are utilized and form a significant element of the plot, which is then examined and scrutinized.
