One of the newest and most unique forms of digital imagery is the cinemagraph, in which some parts of a motionless frame are animated and loop seamlessly. Its impact goes beyond the typical approach of advertising, and is therefore gaining popularity on social media platforms, websites, and in digital advertising campaigns.
This thesis explores the state of the art of the medium, and takes an in-depth look at the features which define it. In addition, a proposal for the improvement of this medium is developed and implemented as a prototype. An important technical innovation is the integration of AR elements.
