Free flight. The secrets of flying
How to design an exhibition which is suitable for children and young people?
The clients of the exhibition Free flight. The secrets of flying expressed the wish to develop a hands‒on technical‒scientific exhibition for children and teenage learners. In the exhibition the visitors should experience the fundamental aspects of aviation and astronautics in a playful and gender adequate way.
The experiences collected during the project, and the findings of the research suggested that this kind of exhibition, or rather the incorporation of the target group in the design process, can be regarded as the ideal concept for the mediation of science and technology to children and teenagers. It turns out that this concept of an adventure‒game‒story results in a higher level of attention, and encourages the desire to learn more about the topics.
