MANKYU / Coping with stress

Biofeedback with social interface as support for stress management and introspection
MANKYU / Stressbewältigung

Psychological stress affects both body and mind and can lead to various illnesses. This condition is usually triggered by negative emotions, thus the causes can only be examined by reflecting on one’s own thoughts and feelings.

Mankyu provides a biofeedback system that approaches this problem objectively as well as subjectively: Physiological stress signals are measured by a wearable skin patch. Companion robot mankyu communicates these measuring results to the user non-verbally in an intuitive, emotive way through expression and body language. This facilitates introspection and encourages the user to consciously deal with their personal stress.
