My contact

What I did

My activities involved optimising mailing lists, devising a container database, analysing material flows and developing potential for optimisation, compiling a shift plan, evaluating and extending relevant indicators and devising a lighting concept for the packing area. I was also involved in a large project, the aim of which was to develop a storage concept for a newly acquired distribution warehouse located away from the production site.

My activities in this project included technology searches and selecting a product identification system, issuing load numbers incl. ERP system connection, layout planning, implementing a shelving system and generating a multi-lingual truck management system.

Why I enjoyed my internship

During my internship, I was assigned responsibility and was able to successfully put my expertise to the test. I also worked independently and was able to share my opinion and expertise.

What I learned

My internship really helped to develop my thinking in context. I developed a better understanding of company processes and also significantly expanded and developed my knowledge of logistics system solutions.

My biggest success/My greatest experience

One particular success during my internship semester was the implementation of logistics solutions developed by me for the warehouse, such as the selection of lifting tables. I was also involved in planning the installation and selection of shelving systems which were subsequently implemented, marking another successful experience for me.

My ideas were often very well received and applied in the company. For me, this highlighted the expertise I had already acquired during my studies. I am very proud of these successes and the recognition of my knowledge and skills really helped to increase my self-confidence and motivation.

How I secured the internship

I got the internship through contacts. The head of the ‘Logistics/Dispatch’ department offered me the chance to do my internship in his department. This acquaintance allowed me to secure the internship.

What I want to do in the future

In the future, I would like to be part of Pengg Austria GmbH again. The company still has potential for optimisation and I can see a number of challenges worth tackling at the company. Since I already have some experience of the ‘Logistics/Dispatch’ department, I would like to get to know some of the other areas in more detail so as to gain a better impression of the activities involved in the different departments.
