Me in three emojis:😀🧐🌟

When I was little, I wanted to become: I didn’t really have any prospects and mainly played with Lego.

If I hadn’t studied guitar, I would have become a software developer earlier.

This is where I spent my time after classes: At home.

The best food on campus: the cafeteria.

My favorite place on campus: the balcony.

This is how I celebrated my graduation: two beers standing up, there was no time for more.

If my studies were a song, it would be “MFG, mit freundlichen Grüßen” by Fanta 4. I learned an impressive number of abbreviations.

One thing you are guaranteed to learn during your studies is respect for the boundless expanse of information technology.

The best course was Data Structures and Algorithms.

There are no shortcuts, and ChatGPT will do you more harm than good during your studies. If you want to understand something, sit down and work on it until you can explain it to someone else without any gaps.

About my job

I work as a software developer at Akaryon, a company that develops innovative digital solutions with a focus on the environment and sustainability. In my job, I program web applications and work with technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, the Symfony framework, and Docker. I find it particularly exciting when I can cleanly structure complex logic and implement it efficiently.

I laid the foundations for my work during my studies: concepts such as client-server communication, containerization, and CI/CD are now part of my everyday working life. Even though I currently work a lot with PHP, I am interested in further development, e.g., by gaining more experience with Node.js.

What I particularly like is that I can help shape technical solutions that have a social impact – that motivates me every day. At the same time, my job gives me the space to work analytically and creatively.

My entry into the industry during my third semester was a real career springboard. As a career changer, it was an important step in gaining experience early on and gaining confidence in my decision.

In the future, I would like to plan a little more time for my family – after that, I might pursue a master’s degree. Studying while working was challenging, but with a lot of discipline, a strong team of colleagues, and the support of my family, it was manageable.
