Me in three emojis: 🏔️😛☀️
In my free time: I`m outdoors in the mountains, at the gym, or spending time with dear friends.
The coolest internship was: Drug Counseling Service of the Province of Styria with Dagmar and Robert.
Where I spent time after classes: in Augarten, at the FH JOANNEUM’s Spritzer stand, or at a friend’s shared flat.
My favorite spot on campus: rooftop terrace, 3rd floor.
Tell us what your job is, without telling us what your job is: accompanying people in various life situations, helping them when needed, with the goal that they no longer need me.
What you definitely learn in my study programme: networked and multi-perspective thinking
The best course was: Social Work Issues 1/Autonomous Learning
This course was a challenge for me: Casemanagement
An internship and bachelor’s thesis topic that matches your own interests is easier to tackle.
Finding your professional identity as a social worker can take time, at least it did for me, and explaining social work to people outside the field usually takes more than a single sentence.
Networking in general is key in the social sector.

This is my job: supporting people with mental illness at the Psychosozialer Pflegedienst (PSP) Tirol (Psychosocial Care Service Tyrol); tasks: relationship work; advising on health and job issues, networking with specialists, colleagues and system partners.
How did I get this job? Recommendation from a former colleague at the nursing home, then regular application via email.
What I learned during my studies that is relevant to my job: Networked thinking, legal basics of the Austrian social system, knowledge about living with mental illness/disability.
Why/what I like about my job: Working impartially for and with people, treating clients as equals, working together to find solutions.
What I don’t like so much about my job: sometimes working long hours every day due to my studies on my days off.
What abilities and skills do you need for the job: an open mind: every day/moment can be relevant for clients in a different way, but still structure in order to be able to work together constructively to develop ideas and solutions.
Biggest success/highlight of your career so far: A client used to oversleep most days and needed calls from their family to get them up reliably – now they manage to get to work on time independently
What are the next steps, what are your plans for the future: Erasmus in Spain, writing my master’s thesis, starting my career
