The Dogdays of summer project was created five years ago. Founded by Clarissa Kober, Diana Ranegger and Johanna Kohlenberger on the idea of sustainability, the three now run a blog in addition to a fixed location in Graz and their own online shop.
What they offer in their shop at Volksgartenstrasse 4-6 is not simply ordered from large retailers and resold. The articles that are sold in the Dogdays of summer store have their own history and have often changed owners several times before they end up here. Every piece of clothing in the second-hand shop of the three women from Graz is tracked down by them at flea markets and clothes exchanges, carefully selected and cleaned in order to be brought back to life.
They don't look for various items of clothing but for combinations, which they then present in their blog and offer in the shop. Their concept is not only to sell individual pieces, but also to show their customers how they can rediscover even outdated clothing through different combinations. They want to counteract the trend towards fast-fashion and not only sell vintage as a look, but also thematise sustainable clothing as a valuable resource in their shop, online store and blog.
A shop, the online store and the blog are not all there is to be and so the next project is already in the starting blocks.
