EU4DUAL celebrates its first birthday

EU4DUAL feiert ersten Geburtstag

Since 01.01.2023, FH JOANNEUM is part of the European University Alliance EU4DUAL. The first anniversary of the alliance was celebrated together with FH JOANNEUM staff at a breakfast event in Graz on 12.01.2024. At the event, Scientific Managing Director Corinna Engelhardt-Nowitzki and EU4DUAL Project Leader Roswitha Wiedenhofer-Bornemann presented the main highlights of the first year of the project and outlined the key objectives and milestones for the coming year.

The first year of the project focused on establishing structures and strategies for the alliance. FH JOANNEUM has set up a Local Office, consisting of employees who are operationally active in EU4DUAL, as well as a Project Advisory and Communication Board. In addition, the first networks for increased cooperation between the universities in the consortium were established – an EU4DUAL Teachers and Researchers Network was founded and the first Erasmus+ contracts were signed. The first Erasmus+ mobilities within the consortium were also carried out in the first project year – you can read about an EU4DUAL staff mobility at Mondragon University in Spain here.

The goals for the coming project year are ambitious. The development of the planned Joint Dual Master Programs is one of the main topics for 2024. In addition, the first EU4DUAL Annual Conference will be held at MCAST University in Malta in April 2024. Joint research activities are planned, and the first EU4DUAL micro-credentials will be launched during this year.

After the presentation, some of the project members were asked questions in the form of mini-interviews on specific topics: research in the EU4DUAL consortium, work on the development of the Joint Dual Master Programs, cooperation with industry and the future of dual education in Europe. Of course, the participants also had the opportunity to ask questions to the project team and to discuss topics of their interest with other colleagues at the event.

The EU4DUAL project team is delighted with the great interest shown in the project and the event. Further information on EU4DUAL can be found here.
