FH JOANNEUM promotes interdisciplinary research with innovative ideas: for the first time, a speed dating event for researchers was organised in Graz.
Researchers from a total of 11 different institutes and service departments used the 1st Research Speed Networking event on 29.6.2023 for exchange of research interests and networking. After two short presentations on research at FH JOANNEUM and the new research opportunities offered by the European University EU4DUAL, the participants got to know each other in a speedy manner – the researchers were grouped into pairs, and each pair had three minutes to discuss, before forming a new pair with a different researcher. Several innovative ideas for new collaborations emerged after the first rounds. In a more relaxed atmosphere, these ideas were then discussed with the Research Organisation and Services team at a buffet get-together.
With this event, the Research Organization and Services Department responded to repeated requests for increased cooperation in research between the FH JOANNEUM departments and institutes. In this way, the broad expertise at FH JOANNEUM can be used in exciting new research. Despite the intensive end-of-semester phase, participants came from all departments and the topics ranged from health care and nursing to journalism, management, and business informatics.
