Audio Coding Pedal Platform

Master’s Thesis by Giuseppe Taormina: Audio Coding Pedal Platform for Live Performances and Prototyping. Small low‒budget effects pedal platform for live coding, prototyping and music performances

Live coding, or real‒time programming, is becoming increasingly common but requires the use of several other elements. The possibility of being able to condense everything in an instrument of reduced size, almost like a normal guitar pedal, could increase the practicality of this practice and make it possible to carry it out in any situation. The effect unit is based on low‒cost electronics. The components used are selected to obtain the smallest possible dimensions of this platform and, above all, the cheapest possible product. In addition to processing the sound of a guitar or other instrument, this device can also display images on a screen. These images change according to the sound and can be shown during a performance to make it more interesting.
