Too much artificial light suppresses the production of the sleep hormone melatonin, which disrupts people’s internal clock. This in turn can lead to sleep disorders or depression. In addition, 70 % of all streetlights are only used for an average of 10 % of the time they are switched on. The heart of the concept is the light source itself.
The innovative “Digital Matrix LED” technology was applied, in which a light source is bundled via optics and falls onto a DMD chip. This creates a precise light cone and thus reduces light contamination to a minimum. In this way, an almost infinite number of light distributions can be realized while generating the ideal light for every road condition.
