Creativity shapes our perception of everyday life, makes it possible to implement projects in an individual way, and trains the eye for new possibilities. The more sensory impressions are involved, the more comprehensive the experience is. Advancing digitalisation is increasingly leading to a reduction in sensory perception offerings, as haptic work with the hands is increasingly getting lost. The pursuit of perfection and attention to detail is often the focus of creative design processes, which is why attempts are made to reproduce ideas as realistically as possible without allowing any possibility of playful experimentation. But how do analogue design methods influence the promotion of creative processeses, and what role do they play in an increasingly digital way of working? This master’s thesis is dedicated to the investigation of creativity and whether analogue design methods serve as a measure to promote creativity. The multi-layered concept of creativity and creative work was explained, and analogue and digital work were examined regarding their potentials and challenges. Interviews with experts and a survey were used to establish a practical reference to the topic. Special reference is made to analogue design methods, which were researched in detail during a self-experiment.
