Detect / Food Quality

Project work in cooperation with BORA, Austria
Das Messgerät BORA Detect untersucht die Qualität von Lebensmitteln in Bezug auf Giftstoffe. Entwickelt am Studiengang Industrial Design, Kooperation mit BORA.

How can the quality of food in terms of toxins from production be easily tested using a measuring device? The answer lies in the BORA Detect product.

Cereals, fruits, and vegetables are grown genetically modified and are often tainted with pesticides. Animals are kept in intensive livestock farming. Everything is designed to look good and be inexpensive. Foods contain harmful pesticides, germs, and minimal nutrients, and they are often discarded thoughtlessly. BORA Detect is a set of two tools for testing food quality and safety. While shopping, a portable device equipped with photospectral and touch sensors helps detect pesticides and check nutrients that are very essential for aroma. In the kitchen, another tool uses scent sensors to determine whether food is still safe to consume or if it contains harmful germs. This way, food waste is minimized, and meals can be enjoyed with little worries and full flavor.
