This bachelor’s thesis deals with the development of an accessible photo book for blind people. It also examines the different aspects of perception of sighted and blind people. While collaborating with the Odilien-Institute in Graz, the photo book was specially tailored to the needs of blind people. The work explains how visual content can be made accessible to blind people while using audio descriptions, tactile photos, and image descriptions in Braille. Finally, the thesis offers an outlook on future developments and calls for greater integration of barrier-free approaches in visual communication.
