How does it feel? is a destigmatising book, or rather a catalogue. It aims to act as a bridge between people who experience mental disorders and people who do not. It is not a complicated or a thorny bridge. Instead, it is straightforward and simple. The aim is to build the most direct and strongest connection in between. One of the most common strategies to reduce stigma is education.

As human beings, we tend to get scared of things that we do not know or understand. Yet, our feelings and experiences are more similar than we think. Both to prove this point and to support education about stigma, the author of this bachelor’s thesis created this catalogue of emotions and experiences about mental disorders. The book consists of the quotes of people who experience mental disorders and visualisations of these quotes to strengthen the empathy. It further reveals the similarities and mutuality in the human experiences.
