Mev 1.0 / Micro Car

A micro car for individual everyday transport.

Sascha Schildbeck’s project in the Industrial Design degree programme focuses on commuter traffic and the transport of daily shopping needs.

The size of the vehicle is designed to accommodate two people in a row. The asymmetrical design of the vehicle means that loads such as a bicycle or parcels from the furniture store can be transported on the outside of the vehicle. Current urban development shows that more and more car-free zones are emerging.

One hypothesis of this project is the creation of a micromobility lane on existing carriageways. This involves dividing one lane of a normal road into two lanes. Due to the narrow width of the vehicles, the left-hand lane can become a lane for e-bikes and cargo bikes, while the right-hand lane remains free for narrow vehicles.
