3D printers for generative systems.

In his bachelor’s thesis, Stephan Ogris presents the “Quantum,” an advanced 3D printer based on artificial intelligence that prints personalized objects based on user profiles. The thesis encourages reflection on the future development of such AI systems.

Quantum is a 3D printer based on an advanced generative artificial intelligence system that will only be usable in the foreseeable future. User profiles are created with in-depth personal information ranging from preferred art styles and favorite designers to emotions and memories. These profiles are used as a ‘prompt’ or part of the ‘prompt’ to generate a specific object based on this information and 3D printed on the featured printer.

With Speculative Design as the overarching theme, the aim is to provide food for thought for the future of these artificial intelligence systems.
