Out of the box | Pioneers Festival 2017

The Pioneers Festival is an annual event at the Hofburg Imperial Palace in Vienna. The aim of the event is to connect startup companies, executives and investors from the international tech-industry. In addition to numerous speakers, workshops and side events, the Pioneers Festival also includes a startup exhibition area, in which early stage startups can present their in- novative ideas and products.

This master’s thesis describes the design concept of the startup expo at the Pioneers Festival 2017. This year’s festival focused on the topic of Human Augmentation, which was also represented in the two areas of the startup expo Augment your Home and Augment your Workspace. In particular, this thesis shows the impact that technological innovations will have on future homes and workspaces.
