This master’s thesis provides an overview of the development of a board game for 10—18 year old fans of SK Rapid Vienna. The focus of the thesis is communicating the club values with regards to the design of a game manual, the packaging, the game boards, and the necessary game elements such as playing cards, tokens and playing pieces. In addition, a quantitative needs analysis was carried out and the competition was analyzed.
The execution of qualitative user tests should show which of the three finished prototypes is most suitable for the target group. The feedback of the users, as well as an expert interview, contributed to the optimization of the concept, game mechanics, game storyline, and aesthetics of the selected prototypes.
