Before starting her studies, Birgit Gusenbauer gained work experience in Switzerland and USA. During her studies in ‘International Business’ at the FHS Kufstein, Austria and the Dublin Institute of Technology, Ireland, she specialised on ‘International Finance’. While working for the RLB NÖ-Wien in the Treasury-Department she was responsible for legal agreements between international banks as well as of the frequent P&L statements of the treasury-team for the management board. In the course of her job at Skandia, an international insurance-company specialising on unit-linked products, she took responsibility for two market entries in CEE. Besides working for Skandia, she received her Doctoral-Degree at the Vienna University of Economics with distinction and has received several awards by different institutions. Since 2010 she is teaching at the FH JOANNEUM in the Degree Programms &aposIinternational Management' and 'Business in Emerging Markets'.
