Gerald Steiner
Profile
Professor Dr. Gerald Steiner is Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Globalization at the Danube University Krems and since 2015 Professor of Organizational Communication and Innovation. From 2011 to 2015 he was a Schumpeter Fellowship Professor at Harvard University and visiting scholar. Before his professional career led him to the USA, he habilitated in the Department of Systems Management and Sustainability Management at the University of Graz in 2009 and represented this department as Associate Professor at the Institute for Systems Sciences, Innovation and Sustainability Research, for which he was jointly responsible in 2007.
As a lecturer in the field of innovation management and systemic-creative problem-solving methods at the Industrial Design course at FH JOANNEUM in Graz, he supports students in their project-specific creative and innovation processes.
In addition to his academic career, he was responsible for product innovations for a wide variety of companies in the field of special mechanical engineering, as well as for system innovations, primarily due to his independent business activities.
His book “Das Planetenmodell der kollaborativen Kreativität: Systemisch-kreatives Problemlösen für komplexe Herausforderungen” (The Planetary Model of Collaborative Creativity: Systemic-Creative Problem Solving for Complex Challenges), was published in 2011 by Gabler-Research and is of great relevance regarding today’s major social challenges. This was followed by numerous international journal publications, including the Harvard Publication Series.
