Sandra Schadenbauer

DI (FH) Sandra Schadenbauer is a Senior Lecturer at the Institute of Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence within the Department of Applied Computer Sciences at FH JOANNEUM University of Applied Sciences. Her teaching and research focus on digital media technologies, software and web development, human-computer interaction, and the design of usable and accessible applications.

In the bachelor’s degree program in Business Informatics, she teaches “Digital Asset Production and Management,” focusing on digital assets and interactive projects using Unity. She also supervises bachelor’s theses, practical projects, and internships and serves on bachelor’s examination committees. In the master’s degree program in Data Science and Artificial Intelligence, she guides students in developing immersive applications and tangible user interfaces through the “Augmented and Virtual Reality Lab” and the “Tangible UI/UX Lab.”

She also teaches in the master’s degree program in Digital Entrepreneurship and Innovation at the Institute of International Management and Entrepreneurship within the Department of Management and Business. In “Tech Fundamentals for Entrepreneurs,” she introduces core digital technologies and the practical use of AI assistants. Her contribution to “Simulations & MVP-Testing Procedures” focuses on developing and testing prototypes and minimum viable products (MVPs). As a member of the teaching team, she also contributes to “Individual Project Work 1: Startup Research” and “Startup Lab 2: Customer Discovery and Product Market Fit.” Starting in the summer semester of 2027, she will also teach “DevOps Basics: From Code to Live System,” covering full-stack development, container technologies, and automated software deployment. In addition, she supervises master’s theses in this program and serves on master’s examination committees.

In research and development projects for museums, showrooms, and technology companies, she combines technical implementation with usability, accessibility, and interactive knowledge communication. She has longstanding collaborations with KIMUS Graz GmbH and Universalmuseum Joanneum, particularly in developing and implementing interactive museum applications and educational experiences. Together with partner organizations such as the Styrian Association of the Deaf, she also works on accessible digital resources. Her research interests include virtual and augmented reality, tangible interfaces, and the involvement of diverse user groups in development and evaluation processes.

She is also a co-organizer of the Cloud Native Community Group Graz and Cloud Native Days Austria, contributing to event planning, marketing, and community building.
