My contact

What I do:

My primary role is to keep the company focus on its customers, to create an environment where employees can offer the best possible customer service and to establish technical and social innovations at the department.

Why I love my job:

The field of customer service is constantly evolving and never stands still. There are no routine activities and I am always learning. I work with people, for people. The business environment and market are of particular interest to me.

Important skills in my job:

  • Well-grounded training: economic, technical and social
  • The ability to see the whole picture and to identify and prioritise the interests of the various sectors involved
  • Solution-oriented, targeted and committed work to achieve effective implementation

My biggest accomplishment so far:

I particularly enjoy developing and expanding customer services. Incorporating new themes and technologies is particularly stimulating for me. Rethinking long-established ingrained processes also has a particular charm. I derive my strength to tackle new things from these successes.

How I found my current job:

Having a network of contacts in the industry is beneficial. The job was offered to me.

What I learned for this job during my studies:

The much-cited ‘participation skills’ which I acquired during my studies were of particular importance to me. I am a service specialist. The field has a significant number of interfaces in the company, since everyone should be working to support the customer. It is therefore all the more important for me to use these participation skills. Any discussion moves to another level when your conversation partner recognises that you have expertise in his or her field.

Job prospects in my field:

Since we have a trainee programme at Österreichische Post AG and I was involved in this year’s selection process, the advice I would give to young people is as follows: A top level of training is required with lots of practical internships and semesters abroad. This framework, paired with a smart appearance and good powers of deduction in responding to questions, is a good starting point for entering the world of work.

I am:

  • solution-oriented and determined
  • able to identify connections and create structure
  • a good communicator

About my job:

In my current role, I collaborate with lots of people, break down complex structures and reconcile quality and efficiency requirements – this should also remain the focus in the future too. The challenges of the logistics sector offer me a wide range of opportunities to apply the knowledge I have acquired. Österreichische Post AG provides the right setting for me and is more than just a logistics operator. It is a traditional company, a market leader in the core field of business. It has an extremely high level of innovation and is very successful at what it does – I am proud to be part of it. I would say to interested students: have fun doing what you do and be open to everything which comes your way.
