Attendance at the university

The course is organised on a part-time basis: the first and second semesters each include one week (five days) of compulsory attendance, modular attendance phases of around four weekends (Friday and Saturday) and supervised e-learning units. Around 45.6% of the weekly semester hours involve compulsory attendance at the university, while 54.4% are covered via e-learning – either synchronous online courses, or asynchronous communication and supervised assignments.

During the third semester you are required to attend on around four days (Friday and Saturday) in addition to the e-learning units. Attendance is required for approximately 67% of the weekly semester hours and 33% are covered via e-learning – either synchronous online courses, or asynchronous communication and supervised assignments.

E-learning

E-learning is intended to supplement attendance at lectures. A distinction is made between synchronous and asynchronous units. The units are organised in coordination with the lecturers.

Attendance

In principle FH JOANNEUM has an 80% attendance requirement for all courses.
