What I do:

  • Developing requirements specifications
  • Preparing software designs and technical documentation
  • Defining technical requirements

Why I love my job:

  • Scrum-based work
  • Coordination with representatives from the banking sector
  • Great working atmosphere and a perfect team

Important skills in my job:

  • Logical thinking
  • Quick perception
  • Communication and negotiation skills

My biggest accomplishment so far:

I was enrolled on the Raiffeisen Software GmbH trainee programme and spent half a year attending personal development training sessions, courses and seminars. During the course of the trainee programme, we worked as a team to devise a final project and present it to the entire management and HR team. The concepts we presented were adopted and some are now being implemented.

How I found my current job:

I responded to an official job advertisement and following an interview, was offered the position.

What I learned for this job during my studies:

It is important to establish links between the individual areas. Initially I was sceptical about the wide-ranging nature of the course to start with because I found it lacking in specialisation in certain areas. But it is precisely this approach which makes the course in Internet Technology so interesting and sustainable.

Job prospects in my field:

I would rate the job opportunities as being very high. I was able to choose between two offers 2 months before completing my Bachelor's, without even applying for anything in the greater Graz region.

I am:

  • helpful
  • interested
  • reliable

I would like to say to interested students: it is important to gather as much expertise in the various areas as possible and to be brave enough to venture into any field later in your career. Even though you may not be a specialist in a particular field, the training offered at FH JOANNEUM provides a very broad grounding. This insight into the various fields of IT creates a solid basis for working in a range of sectors.
