What I do:

Currently, I am the project manager of the multi-layered building complex “E-Campus Graz” with several construction phases. Further projects I've worked on in the office are for example "Smart City Graz", the Science Tower, the new surgery complex of the LKH Graz Hospital and the residential building Vinzensgasse. Additionally, I was involved in numerous competitions over the years.

I also work on sustainable architecture and design on a private basis with my friend Sonya Ivanova, a graduate of the Master’s course in Exhibition Design.

My biggest accomplishment so far:

I think my greatest success so far is that I have developed both personally and professionally through my daily work with some highly skilled architects. I have also been able to celebrate a few successes in my private life following the publication of my master degree thesis in two specialist magazines, ‘Holzbau Austria’ and ‘Holzkurier’ and the news magazine ‘Profil’.

About my job:

For this reason, I am always at the cutting edge of technology and science. The office also has partnerships with some of the most innovative planning engineers in Styria.

It is important for my professional future to work on impressive projects, which is possible at Markus Pernthaler Architekten. My current career goal is to become a project manager for a cleverly devised wood construction project in the next few years.

My appeal to upcoming generations of architects:

In our fast-developing world, we are the generation who needs to take the initiative to ensure sustainable development. Get informed, network and demand that the older generation starts acting!
