Cloud Computing and Platform Engineering

My Studies
Sie lernen, Cloud- und Plattformarchitekturen nicht nur zu planen, sondern auch automatisiert bereitzustellen, zu überwachen, abzusichern und professionell zu betreiben.

Key subject areas

Cloud and platform architectures.

You will learn to design, implement and further develop scalable cloud infrastructures and modern platform solutions. In doing so, you will explore virtualisation, container technologies, cloud platforms, multi-cloud management and the architecture of distributed and data-intensive systems. You will acquire the expertise to design high-performance IT environments for modern businesses.

DevOps and infrastructure automation.

Modern IT systems must be operated quickly, reliably and automatically. You will therefore gain in-depth knowledge of Infrastructure as Code, configuration management, CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices. You will learn to automate development and operational processes and to deploy platforms efficiently.

Data platforms. Monitoring. Cloud operations.

You will develop expertise in building scalable data architectures and pipelines. You will also learn methods for monitoring, observability and site reliability engineering to ensure the availability, performance and scalability of complex cloud systems. Data flows, workflow management and operational models form key components of the programme. You will explore identity and access management, governance, compliance and security aspects of modern cloud environments.

Study mode, self-study and attendance

Study mode

This work-friendly programme offers part-time workers an alternative to part-time study whilst working. You can expect a maximum of 45 days of on-campus attendance in both the first and second semesters, on three fixed days per week; a maximum of 40 days of on-campus attendance in the third semester, on two to three fixed days per week; and a maximum of 15 days of on-campus attendance in the fourth semester, which is organised in a block format. This means the programme can be easily combined with relevant part-time employment of up to two days or 16 hours per week. You can achieve further synergies between your studies and your career through the topic of your Master’s thesis.

Self-study

Self-directed learning always depends on our students’ commitment and ambitions.

Attendance

Attendance is compulsory during both face-to-face and online sessions. In the event of illness, students will be excused upon presentation of a doctor’s certificate. As a last resort, the department management will decide on the consequences of absences and on exemptions from the compulsory attendance requirement.
