Requirements
To graduate from your degree programme, you must:
- successfully complete all the classes
- produce a Master’s thesis, which must be approved
- pass the Master’s examination
Your title on graduation will be “DiplomingeneurIn”.
Master’s thesis
In their Master’s thesis, students address a current topic from the field of Cloud Computing and Platform Engineering, which must be approved in advance by the programme director. The thesis must be written as an independent, academic piece of work. Programme supervisors provide support to students through individual consultation sessions. It is also possible to write the Master’s thesis in collaboration with a company. This often paves the way for their future professional career.
Through their Master’s thesis, students demonstrate that they are capable of independently researching a topic in a subject area relevant to the programme, thereby proving the success of their professional training on an academic basis. The thesis must be written in accordance with the principles of academic writing acquired during the course of study.
Master’s examination
The Master’s examination at the end of the fourth semester assesses whether students have acquired the skills relevant to their professional field. The examination consists of an oral examination before a panel of examiners specialising in the subject area and is open to the public.
After graduation
With the knowledge and skills acquired in the programme, graduates are able to embark on careers straight away and are in great demand in many companies in today’s interconnected globalised world. They can also find employment in the university and administrative sector.
Many of our graduates also take the opportunity to pursue a doctoral degree at a business university or a university of technology with an IT focus.
