Cyber-Physical System Engineering

My Studies
Absolvent:innen verbinden Softwareentwicklung mit Robotik, IoT, Embedded Systems, Sensorik und vernetzten Systemen.

Key subject areas

Robotics. IoT. Embedded Systems.

You will learn to design and implement interactive, sensor-based and cyber-physical systems. You will study industrial robotics, control engineering, IoT, embedded systems and the integration of hardware, software and networked components. You will acquire the expertise to design intelligent systems for real-world application environments.

Signal processing. Computer vision. Sensor data.

Cyber-physical systems collect and process data from their environment. You will study digital signal processing, computer vision and the analysis of image, signal and sensor data. This will enable you to learn how to make information from the physical world digitally usable.

Interactive Systems. MR. IoT.

You will develop complex interactive applications with a strong user focus. The programme centres on topics such as software development for interactive computing, advanced user experience and accessibility, mixed reality systems, 3D applications, and distributed and networked systems. You will learn to design powerful, user-centred applications for modern digital and physical environments.

Study mode, self-study and attendance

Study mode

This work-friendly programme offers part-time workers an alternative to part-time study whilst working. You can expect a maximum of 45 days of on-campus attendance in both the first and second semesters, on three fixed days per week; a maximum of 40 days of on-campus attendance in the third semester, on two to three fixed days per week; and a maximum of 15 days of on-campus attendance in the fourth semester, which is organised in a block format. This means the programme can be easily combined with relevant part-time employment of up to two days or 16 hours per week. You can achieve further synergies between your studies and your career through the topic of your Master’s thesis.

Self-study

Self-directed learning always depends on our students’ commitment and ambitions.

Attendance

Attendance is compulsory during both face-to-face and online sessions. In the event of illness, students will be excused upon presentation of a doctor’s certificate. As a last resort, the department management will decide on the consequences of absences and on exemptions from the compulsory attendance requirement.
