Department of Applied Computer Sciences

What is the admissions process?

All applicants from courses of study with a focus on computer science are encouraged to apply. Special knowledge of medical informatics and the healthcare sector is not required but recommended.

Due to the exceptional circumstances, there will be no written assessment tests in 2022. Instead, greater weighting will be given to the admissions interview.

The admissions process consists of

  • an assessment of your previous qualifications,
  • an online interview, including subject-specific topics and
  • an assessment of previous qualifications.

The online interview

You will be invited to an interview if you meet the admission requirements and have submitted your application in full by the deadline. You will receive an email with detailed information about the online interview in good time before the interview.

The interview will be conducted online via video call. The applicant must confirm that no unauthorised aids are used and no one else is present to help. The applicant must present official photo identification at the beginning of the interview.

The interview will be conducted by the head of degree programme and a lecturer from the Institute. It will last around 20 minutes

The interview is your chance to demonstrate your knowledge, motivation and suitability for the course and the profession. It’s in your hands to convince with your CV, your interest in the course content and your personality.

Assessment of previous qualifications

The form of your application, professional experience and relevant continuing education are taken into account as additional criteria for admission.
