My internship at AT&S Austria Technologie & Systemtechnik Aktiengesellschaft
Praktikum

Key data

Job description: Intern in Advanced Packaging
Company: AT&S AG
Place: Leoben, Austria
Period: February to June 2018
Contact: Patrick Fleischhacker

What I did

I mostly worked on my Bachelor’s thesis for which I developed a wireless sensor node which can communicate with Amazon Alexa. Another task was to thoroughly test embedded components, primarily transistors.

Why I enjoyed my internship

Because I was able to work very independently and try out lots of things.

What I learned

The most important thing is working independently. Away from the secure university environment where there is always a lecturer on hand to help, independent and structured working is very important.

The highlight of the internship

The best experience was when the hardware I had developed communicated with Amazon Alexa for the first time.

How I secured the internship

As I have been awarded the AT&S scholarship on several occasions, I have already worked intensively with this company. I simply applied and was granted the internship.

What I want to do in the future

My next milestone is to complete my Master’s degree in Electronics and Computer Engineering in Kapfenberg. Later, I would like to work on developing electronic circuits and putting them onto a circuit
