My semester abroad at the Querétaro campus at Tec de Monterrey in Mexico.

Querétaro is situated four hours to the north of Mexico City – a small town with around 1.1 million inhabitants and a beautiful old town centre in Spanish colonial style. The university itself is one of Mexico’s elite universities. With over 20 campuses, Tec de Monterrey is represented across Mexico and offers training in all subjects. The focus is on high quality education and an international approach.

Around 30% of courses on each campus are taught in English, which benefits the foreign students who come here. In Querétaro there were over 250 students from across the world. This is therefore a place for getting to know lots of different cultures from various countries.

Mexico is also a great place to travel as well as study: the convenient and great value bus connections mean that you can explore a new place every week. At the same time, virtually all exchange students have the same goal and it was also my aim to experience Mexico during my stay.

Looking back, it was a wonderful semester full of interesting experiences, friendly professors, new friendships and fun situations. And I learned a lot too!
