Anna-Magdalena Druško, BA

Graduate of Journalism and Public Relations (PR)

Anna-Magdalena Druško completed her Bachelor’s degree at FH JOANNEUM after several years in the social sector and has remained professionally connected to her alma mater.

🎓What I studied:

💻 My job: Alumni and Communications Coordinator at FH JOANNEUM in Graz, Austria

📭 How you can reach me: Staff portraitLinkedIn

Me in three emojis: ♀️ 🌏 💚

In my free time: I’m with my daughter in the allotment garden or in Asia.

When I was little I wanted to be a reporter, now I’m something like that.

If I hadn’t studied journalism and PR, I’d be somewhere in India.

This is where I spent my semester abroad: at Večernji list in Zagreb.

This is where I spent my time after the LVs: at the Running Horse.

My favorite place on campus: the blue building.

This is how I celebrated my graduation: with beer and lovely people in the Scherbe.

If my studies were a movie, it would be “Thank you for smoking”.

You’re guaranteed to learn this during your studies: how to implement cool communication projects under time pressure.

The best course was: Annenpost 💚

I struggled a bit with this course: Media Law.

Fun fact from your studies? You can also need four years for a three-year degree course. Oops.

Go the extra mile and network well with lecturers and graduates.

About my job

As an employee of a PR & Marketing department, I create podcasts, design newsletters, initiate new communication projects, write texts for various platforms and target groups, network FH JOANNEUM graduates… and as a feminist, I always do my work with a focus on a more gender-equitable future. I found out about my current job during my final year at FH JOANNEUM and started working here while I was still studying. While I was initially more responsible for event planning, I am now involved in various PR areas and really enjoy the fact that my ideas can also become concrete projects.

During my studies, I not only learned how to communicate with different target groups on different platforms, but also how the media landscape works. “What’s the story?” is a guiding principle that constantly influences my work today; the courage to ask questions, curiosity and the ability to think creatively and in a networked way are essential for my job.

A special milestone was the publication of the first episode of Lebensg’schichten und Studiensachen – the FH alumni:ae podcast, which I organize and host. Next up is the completion of my Master’s thesis in Gender Studies.
