In my free time: I do things with my family
The coolest internship was: All my work placements were absolutely brilliant because I always got to try new things and learn loads!
When I was little, I wanted to be a doctor; today I also work in the healthcare sector.
If I hadn’t studied Logopedics, I’d still be: on the lookout for this field of study.
Here is where I spent my time after the lectures: on campus, with my fellow students, at home with my children.

My advice for you
My work as a speech and language therapist fills me with joy and pride every day! The challenges I faced during my studies were well worth it, as they have enabled me to do this rewarding work now.

About my job
As a speech and language therapist, I carry out assessments, therapy and counselling for speech and voice issues – always tailored to the individual needs of my patients. Following my placements, I was immediately taken on at a practice, which was an important step in my professional development.
During my degree, I gained a sound understanding of medical and linguistic principles, as well as speech and language therapy. I learnt to look beyond what is immediately obvious in order to identify deeper connections. This ability enables me to approach each patient with care and on an individual basis.
I particularly value the diversity of my work: the close rapport I build with patients, the creative design of therapy programmes, and the opportunity to actively contribute to improving their quality of life. In addition to sound specialist knowledge, this profession requires, above all, solution-focused thinking, empathy, patience and the ability to build relationships.
A career highlight for me was working in a private practice. I now wish to build on this: my next goal is to set up my own practice in order to realise my own vision.
