🎓This is what I studied:

💻 My job: Management and Customer Satisfaction at hollu Systemhygiene GmbH in Zirl, Austria

If I hadn’t studied Energy and Transport Management, I would be: a solicitor.

In my free time, I am interested in: tennis, volleyball and anything with an engine.

After classes, I often spent my time in the volleyball hall.

My favourite place on campus: The common room with the KTM RC8R.

How I celebrated my graduation: With friends and Aperol at Kaiser Josef Platz in Graz.

Tell us what your job is without telling us what your job is: Keeping the company fit and preparing it for the future.

What you are guaranteed to learn during your studies: Understanding contexts, questioning critically, and why sustainability is a recipe for business success

The best course was: Advanced Harvard Case Studies in Sustainable Management

I struggled a bit with this course: Automation and Control

What I took away from my studies for my job: Theory cannot replace practice, but the practical training at the university of applied sciences offers excellent preparation for the job

Use your time to build up knowledge, learn and develop critical thinking skills, and establish contacts that you can benefit from later on. Your studies are your ticket to professional life and form the basis for your career. The more you take away with you, the better your start will be.

About my job

In my role, I am responsible for ESG management, including reporting and defining measures, overseeing corporate compliance, and delivering lectures and training sessions on sustainability. I came into this position through a combination of my academic background, my previous experience as an Energy Manager at Magna Steyr, and the ability to convey my passion and expertise during personal interviews.

What I particularly enjoy about my job is its diversity – no two days are the same. I collaborate with all departments and a wide range of stakeholders, and I get to measure, document, and communicate the success of well-implemented initiatives. One of the challenges is that there are many great ideas related to ESG, but only a limited number can be implemented each year.

This role requires resilience, perseverance, and a genuine interest in understanding the entire organization. A solid grasp of laws and standards, as well as a commitment to continuous learning, are also highly beneficial.

One of my greatest career achievements so far has been being appointed to the Executive Committee – the highest management level in the company. This allows me to contribute to major strategic decisions and bring the ESG perspective to the table. Additionally, I was appointed to the ESG Transparency Committee of the EUDP, where I collaborate with other experts to develop standards for ESG transparency.

Looking ahead, my goal is to further expand my team and maintain our company’s leading role in ESG.
