Lisa Wimmer, MSc

Graduate of Environmental Management

Lisa Wimmer supports corporate clients with her expertise in sustainability. She is building a strong network of partners and sharing her knowledge as a speaker on sustainable finance to make sustainable strategies tangible and effective.

🎓This is what I studied:

💻 My job: Sustainability expert for corporate clients at Sparkasse Oberösterreich Bank AG in Linz, Austria

If I hadn’t studied environmental management, I would be: an interior designer.

I spent my semester abroad in: Turku, Finland.

In my free time, I am involved in/interested in: a colourful mix of different sports to ensure a healthy balance.

After classes, I often spent my time at the WIST student residence, sharing a flat with my best friend and fellow student, or in the party cellar of the JOIN student association, which I ran at the time.

The best food on campus: Schnitzel on Wednesdays

My favourite place on campus: The benches in the sun

How I celebrated my graduation: A big party with my best friend

Tell us what your job is without telling us what your job is: I help companies act green without seeing red.

What you are guaranteed to learn during your studies: valuable input from business, science and practice.

The best course was: Waste Management and Recycling with Gert Schweiger.

I struggled a bit with this course: Thermal Energy Technology.

What I took away from my studies for my job: the importance of networked thinking and different perspectives.

My internship and the resulting part-time job were very valuable to me – I learned to focus on the essentials, make contacts and seize opportunities as they arose – and I would recommend this to other students as well.

About my job

I support corporate clients at Sparkasse OÖ with my expertise in sustainability, build a partner network and am active as a speaker in the field of sustainable finance. I came across my job through a LinkedIn advertisement – within a week I had the position.

I particularly appreciate that my work is meaningful, challenging and varied: every day brings new topics and exciting encounters with customers, events or workshops. The long hours on the road are challenging, but they have taught me how to use my time efficiently.

Clear communication, active listening, understanding others and perseverance are important for my job. My greatest successes are the many intense conversations and moments on stage when I feel that I can really make a difference.

In the future, I would like to develop further initiatives to actively support our clients in their sustainable transformation.
