Natanja Pascottini completed her master’s degree part-time after her bachelor’s degree and remained professionally connected with her alma mater.
What I studied:
My job: Communications Manager at FH JOANNEUM in Graz, Austria.
How to get in touch: Employee profile, LinkedIn
Me in three emojis: ♥️
In my free time: I let my inner child out, read or do sports
When I was little, I wanted to be a journalist, today I am in PR
If I hadn’t studied journalism & public relations (PR), I would probably have emigrated as a life artist
This was the coolest internship: Kleine Zeitung
This is where I did my semester abroad: ZHAW Winterthur / Switzerland
The best food on campus: When I studied here, the Luis ice cream parlor was still around. On a good day, they had a tuna baguette that I still dream about today.
This is where I spent my time after lectures: on the Passamtswiese, on short trips and at home on the couch – depending on my mood.
My favorite place on campus: the presentation room. Kidding. Probably the campus courtyard.
That’s how I celebrated my graduation: with my boyfriend (now husband) and our families together.
Tell us what your job is without telling us what your job is: When I’m doing my job well, you consciously notice little of it.
If my studies were an animal, it would be a fish. For reasons. (When you know, you know)
This is what you are guaranteed to learn during your studies: To function under pressure and to write better
The best course was: Media history. Heinz Wassermann is the best prof ever.
I had a bit of a struggle with this course: Media law.
Fun fact from your studies? It is not recommended to put drinks on window sills on the first floor to cool them, as this increases the likelihood of damage to parked cars below.
Even if it’s annoying: always take the first exam date. And: the course is like a buffet, how much you take away is entirely up to you.
Natanja gave the closing speech at the graduation ceremony together with (her now husband) Mathias.
In her job, Natanja organizes communication projects, here an influencer day at the FH JOANNEUM.

My job is as varied as it is exciting: I manage communication projects, optimize processes and design campaigns. It was a coincidence that I ended up here – my husband was asked via Facebook if he knew someone. I started spontaneously and only went through the application process afterwards. During my studies, I learned how to write different types of texts, how to strike the right tone and understand the basics of social media. My curiosity is particularly valuable and I use it to my advantage time and again.I love three things about my job: the people I work with, the opportunity to tell their stories and the moment when I see our posters in public – a tangible result of our work. My job requires organizational talent, creativity, a certain calmness, and the ability to set boundaries. A recent highlight was organizing a content production day with over 30 participants, where we created the material for an entire campaign in just one day – and with great fun and positive feedback. My next step? I am pursuing a new passion and starting training as a psychotherapist. Combining work and training is a challenge – as a mother of two, I rely on my family network and consciously look for ways to relax and unwind to help me master this balancing act.
