The EU4Dual Annual Conference titled “Greener Visions, Brighter Futures” took place on April 2 and 3, 2025 at the Universities of Mondragon (Spain) and ESTIA (France).

With over 300 participants from various countries and disciplines, the conference was a great success and provided a platform for the exchange of ideas.

The conference was divided into three thematic tracks: “Future of Work,” “Green Economy,” and “Dual Higher Education.” Each track offered a variety of presentations and discussions. 11 papers from FH JOANNEUM’s research teams were accepted and can be found in the Abstract Booklet.

Another highlight of the conference was the first-ever awarding of the EU4Dual Research and Innovation Prize. This award recognizes innovative projects that make a significant contribution to dual higher education and sustainable development. Nadja Pirchheim, a student of the Communication, Media, Sound and Interaction Design program at FH JOANNEUM, made it to the finals with her contribution on the use of virtual reality in vocational training and won third place – an impressive achievement that we are very proud of!

In addition to the scientific contributions and award ceremonies, the conference also offered networking opportunities for students. Seven students from FH JOANNEUM participated in the Short Term Mobility Program on the topic of Green Economy, which allowed them to gain international experience and in-depth knowledge on sustainability-related topics. Furthermore, Benedikt Schmatz and Andreas Armanious, students of the dual study program Mobile Software Development, represented FH JOANNEUM at the Student Council Meeting, where they actively participated in discussions about the future of the European University Alliance EU4Dual.

Overall, the EU4Dual Annual Conference 2025 was a very successful and inspiring event. The next EU4Dual Annual Conference will take place in spring 2026 at the Duale Hochschule Baden-Württemberg – we are looking forward to it!
