We are happy to announce that two new students from FH JOANNEUM have been elected to the EU4Dual student council: Bastian Phillips and Werner Mittmannsgruber. Both are currently enrolled in the dual master’s program in Engineering and Production Management and bring a wealth of professional experience to their new roles.

Bastian Phillips is employed at AVL in the field of Cost- & Value-Engineering, while Werner Mittmannsgruber works at Magna Steyr in the field of Operational Excellence. Their backgrounds in industry, combined with their academic pursuits, position them as strong advocates for the dual study model. Both are committed to promoting the benefits of dual studies and enhancing the visibility of this educational pathway in Austria and across Europe.

Advocating for dual studies

As members of the EU4Dual student council, Bastian Phillips and Werner Mittmannsgruber will serve as the voice of dual students within the alliance. They are particularly focused on highlighting the added value that dual students bring to companies, emphasizing the unique blend of theoretical knowledge and practical experience that defines dual education.

“We are excited to take on this responsibility and to contribute to the further development of dual studies,” says Werner Mittmannsgruber. Bastian Phillips adds, “Our goal is to make dual studies more visible and to demonstrate their relevance for both students and the business community.”

Strengthening dual studies across Europea

The student council plays a crucial role in representing the interests of dual students, fostering dialogue between universities and companies, and promoting the dual study model across Europea. With the addition of Bastian Phillips and Werner Mittmannsgruber, the council is well-equipped to continue its mission of supporting and advancing dual studies within the EU4Dual alliance.

We warmly welcome Bastian Phillips and Werner Mittmannsgruber and look forward to their contributions to the EU4Dual Student Council. At the same time, we would like to thank Andreas Armanious, Benedikt Schmatz, and Daniel Zarnhofer for their commitment to the Student Council over the past two academic years.
