In 2025, the Austrian Computer Society (OCG) will once again be awarding the OCG Sponsorship Prize and the OCG Sponsorship Prize-FH for outstanding scientific work in computer science and business informatics. Both awards are endowed with 2,000 euros each and are aimed at students at Austrian universities and universities of applied sciences.

The OCG Sponsorship Award-FH 2025 goes to Alois Schafferhofer for his master’s thesis ‘Zero Trust in IT and OT Environments’, written as part of his IT & Mobile Security degree programme at FH JOANNEUM. The thesis was supervised by Klaus Gebeshuber, Associate Professor at the Institute of Software Design and Security. The jury particularly recognised the practical and future-oriented examination of security strategies in increasingly networked system landscapes.

The jury of the OCG Sponsorship Award-FH 2025:

FH-Prof. Dr Sylvia Geyer (Chair), FH Technikum Wien

FH-Prof. DI Dr Thomas Heistracher, FH Salzburg

FH-Prof. DI Dr Regine Kadgien, FH Vorarlberg

FH-Prof. DI Dr Werner Kurschl, FH Oberösterreich

FH-Prof. Mag. Dr Johannes Lüthi, FH Kufstein

Congratulations from FH JOANNEUM!
